I was referring to Phoenix with that term because it pioneered the full model, maybe we can consider them the "Yale" or "College of William & Mary." I tell kids ALL THE TIME don't be fooled by Phoenix, ITT Tech (Who might be the Harvard since they were first), Capella, DeVery and all that other jazz. I tell them the exact things you point out the EXACT same education you can get from one of those schools you can get from a Community College at a fraction of the cost, and ALL of our semester credit hours WILL transfer to 85% of other colleges/universities in the U.S. But I do believe that the model that "traditional" colleges and universities typically use is starting to change to attract that demographic that is going to these for profits. Case in point Prairie View, Texas Southern, University of Houston, Sam Houston State and others are setting up satellite locations to attract those students and provide that flexibility.
